Kaduna Governor receives PDP defectors ahead of Saturday’s polls

Kaduna State Governor, Nasiru El-Rufai has received Sani Sidi and other People Democratic Party, PDP’s stalwarts as new members of the All Progressive Congress, APC from across the State.

While leading the delegation, Sidi disclosed that, the reason for defecting from the PDP is because the primaries did not reflect the true wishes of the people.

The leadership of the party is clueless and lacks sense of direction on how to run a State, hence the reason for decamping from the PDP.

According to Sidi, they were at the government house with his supporters from across the 23 LGAs to collectively pledge their support and also ensure APC wins at the next polls.

Sidi said the PDP gubernatorial candidate’s character is questionable. He added that Governor El-Rufai has set a bar of records in the State, therefore, no citizen will be allowed to take the State.

In his response while receiving the defectors, Governor Nasiru El-Rufai congratulated the new members and sought their collaboration to strengthen the party especially ahead of the next polls, saying it’s a major morale booster for the party.

He mentioned that, APC is a party of Justice which has given equal rights to all members. We do not discriminate people against anyone because of his partisan, religious or ethnic affiliation.

The Governor assured the new members of equality status in the party, saying, they have joined the party at the right time as they will be needed immediately at strategic areas.

Elections last for just a week but governance is a continuous process which requires the collective efforts of all individuals because even those in the other party might have positive contributions which we must not turn deaf ears to. We therefore promise to work with you before and after the polls, he emphasised.

El-Rufai lamented how some people are trying to divide the Country at all cost. He insisted and called on all members to put in all efforts to heal the wounds of division across the State after elections.
