The Commissioner of Justice in Kaduna state, Aisha Dikko said the ministry is going to create an anti-corruption unit alongside the witness protection unit in 2021.

Dikko mentioned while defending its ministry budget of the year 2021 at the state house of Assembly on Wednesday in Kaduna that the ministry would also create an administration criminal Justice to monitor how the law will be implemented.

She also said the ministry spend N392,840 million as its recurrent expenditure while the capital N150,180 million as the ministry has no much capital projects in 2021.

The Anthony General also requested for the allocation for legal service and other administrative work.

Also Murtala Zubairu, chief register of the judiciary arm of the ministry of justice also present budget proposal of N192 million for capital while the sum of N248,532,50 as recurrent expenditure

He said the amount would be spent on construction of high magistrate court across the state, renovations of courtrooms and judges residents across the state.

The chairman House committee of Judiciary, Mr Emmanuel Kantiok expressed satisfaction with the presentation of the ministry,

“According to him, the only problem is that their budget is been slashed by the ministry of budget and planning which is likely going to affect their operations “.

He assured them that the house is going to look at each of the case presented and make the necessary inputs.

Meanwhile, the permanent Commissioner Kaduna state independent electoral Commission, SIECOM, Ibrahim Sambo presented a budget proposal of over N 1 .2 billion for the year 2021.

Sambo said the sum of 1 billion would be spend  as  capital expenditure and would be spend on conducting  electoral  duties in 23 LGAS of the state.

According to him the commission is going to use an electronic machine during the elections in February 2021,

“But the machine are absolute so the budget size is inadequate we need additional funds to enable us buy about six thousands batteries for the election”

He then said that the commission has early submitted request of N6 million as over head but was reduced by ministry of budget to N4 Million the amount is grossly inadequate

Adding that the commission had early submitted request for N2.3 billion he request that assembly to maintained its earlier submission to enable them conduct credible election in February 2021.
