Kano governor dedicates tribunal victory to people

Governor of Kano state North-western Nigeria, Dr. Abudullahi Umar Ganduje has dedicated his victory at the Election Tribunal to Kano people for their support during the election and the tribunal proceedings.

Governor Ganduje of the All Progressive Congress has been involved in an Election Tribunal over a petition filed by the opposition Party, the People’s Democratic Party challenging his victory at the March 23rd rerun election.

The governor who returned to the state for the first time after the judgment, while addressing the mammoth of crowd who came to welcome him declared that his victory at the Tribunal was a victory for all devoid of any political affiliation, ethnicity or religious inclination.

My victory is for, humanity, the progressives, and democracy and above all for the people of Kano state and all mankind irrespective of where you belong to.

Our administration loves everybody irrespective of political affiliation. We love you all, I thank you all for your prayers, I am indeed grateful for your support, I urge you all to continue to remain peaceful, law-abiding and pray for the development of Kano state, said governor Ganduje

The governor also reiterated his commitment to ensure that every child in Kano gets free quality, and compulsory education as well as welfare for the physically challenged.

We made it very clear from the beginning that basic education will be free and compulsory for all children in Kano state and that the Almajiris system of education will be integrated into the mainstream education system. Also provide skill acquisition programmes for our teeming youths, this is a task that must be done and already doing it as promised.

We are also very much concerned over the welfare of the physically challenged. We will take care of them. We will send them to school. We will create job opportunities for them. We will empower them; and ensure that their children, too, go to school, Ganduje assured.

The governor who was out of the state before the Tribunal verdict and part of President Buhari’s entourage in a state visit to South Africa, was received by a mammoth of crowd at the local wing of the Aminu Kano International when the Max Air that conveyed him to Kano touch ground at exactly 1:30pm local time on Wednesday.

As the convoy throng the route from the Airport, sea of heads and forest of hands waved at the Governor who rode on a transparent window 32 seater bus waving back at the teeming crowd.

Music and horn rented the air as the convoy consisting of security, motor bikes, tricycle, cars and buses of loyalist throng and made brief stops at Katsina road roundabout and other areas to appreciate the crowd who screaming in joy.

Others were carrying placards reading 4+4, we give Allah the glory for your victory, Aiki Sai da Kwamanda.

Commercial activities were partially paralysed in the ever busy town as people lined up major streets to catch a glimpse of the governor and the convoy.
