Awka-Anambra State Commissioner for Lands, Mr Bonaventure Enemali has appealed to Ndi Anambra to ensure they comply with World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines to curb spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr Enemali made the appeal during interview with Information Officer attached to his ministry.
The commissioner said he was optimistic that COVID-19 would soon fizzle out the way it came, but that this would depend on how members of the public would be able to apply WHO’s guidelines.
Mr Enemali, then, welcomed Government’s provision of food to the less privileged members of the state and also thanked public- spirited individuals, who supported the needy in their various areas.
The commissioner predicted that the pandemic would not adversely affect farmers in Ayamelum Local Government Area (LGA), because they had been complying with social distancing as well as maintaining the required hygiene.
According to him, I am optimistic that the pandemic will not affect food availability in the coming year.
