Awka-Executive Director, State Management Emergency Agency (SEMA), Mr CY Agupugo has urged communities in the state to live in peace with one another in order to avoid destruction of life and property.
Mr Agupugo said this during the handover of relief materials to representatives of Anambra West Local government Area (LGA) at SEMA office complex, Awka.
The items include buckets, beddings, mosquito nets and blankets.
The SEMA boss, who said that the relief items were to soothe the sufferings of the recipients who suffered in communal clash, noted that the state government would like all to live in peace.
“On behalf of Gov. Willie Obiano, we present these relief items to you and urge that you live in harmony as killings and destruction of property do not bring development to any state.
“The World and state are fighting `pandemic war’ now and we all need to be in harmony to win this battle against the Coronavirus pandemic,’’ he said.
He, then, urged the people to always adhere to World Health Organisation (WHO) and state government guidelines in order to keep safe and stay alive to fight Covid-19 pandemic.
