DAMBAI, Ghana — A 40-year-old man, Mr. Sulleman Abubakar, has been paralyzed following a tragic incident where he was trapped under a collapsed mosque for over an hour. The incident occurred in Dambai, the Municipal Capital of Krachi East, as Abubakar attempted to demolish the mosque to construct his apartment.
According to Ghana News Agency, Abubakar was pulling down the building when it partially collapsed on him. During this ordeal, he was also attacked by a swarm of bees, sustaining various degrees of injury. He received initial treatment at WoraWora Government Hospital and was later referred to a traditional bone-setter in the KpareKpare Electoral Area for further treatment of his broken bones.
During GNA’s visit to KpareKpare, they found Abubakar undergoing treatment along with many other bone patients. Mr. Abubakar recounted to GNA how the wall collapsed suddenly, plunging him into darkness and panic. Mr. Ibrahim Adams, the traditional bonesetter treating Abubakar, spoke of his years of practice and belief in his God-given ability to heal people’s broken bones without formal medical training.
