Minister applauds Nigerian Academy of Education

The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu says the Nigerian Academy of Education plays a central role in the development of educational policies in the country.

Mallam Adamu stated this when he received members of the Academy in his office, in Abuja .

The Minister underscored the importance of the Academy in the promotion of excellence in the Nigerian education sector, particularly in the area of research and empirical studies, as well as the promotion of ethics in the teaching profession.

He added that government would continue to support the Academy to advance the cause of education in Nigeria.

Malam Adamu stated that the Academy, founded in 1985 as a professional body, has made immense contribution in the evolution of various policies in the Nigerian education sector.

On the forthcoming West African Education Conference to be held in Abuja in October 2018, the minister pledged government’s support to the Academy.

The President , Nigerian Academy of Education, Professor Elizabeth Eke, earlier said members of the Academy were on a visit to the Minister to acquaint him on the activities of the Academy ,particularly on arrangements of the conference to be hosted in Nigeria.

According to Professor Eke, the conference would afford the country an opportunity to showcase its success story in the development of education.

She pledged continuous support of the Academy to the advancement of education in the country.
