Post: Minister Olawande Urges Focus on Measurable Results for Nigerian Youth Development


Abuja:The Minister of Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande, emphasized the need for ministry officials to produce measurable results and strengthen partnerships to enhance the impact of programs aimed at Nigerian youths.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, Olawande addressed these priorities during the ministry’s Annual Ministerial Retreat, which focused on evaluating performance, identifying challenges, and improving outcomes for youth-centered initiatives. He highlighted the ministry’s efforts in aligning with the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and expanding opportunities for young Nigerians in various sectors, including skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship.



Olawande urged officials to focus on the tangible impact of their activities, ensuring that interventions reach their intended beneficiaries. He called for identifying institutional and financial constraints and recommended a cross-sectoral approach to tackle challenges such as employment, education, and digital transformation. The minister stressed the importance of collaboration and data sharing, particularly through the National Youth Data Bank.



He also called for clear, measurable objectives and accountability within the ministry, emphasizing the role of planning, research, and evaluation in this transition. The retreat aimed to establish clear priorities and mechanisms for implementation, and Olawande encouraged participants to explore partnerships to unlock resources and opportunities for youths.



Additionally, Dr Maryam Keshinro, represented by Mr Olaniepekun Adebay, underlined the need for stronger coordination and accountability. She emphasized the importance of ensuring that programs meet the needs of young Nigerians and produce measurable outcomes, advocating for collaboration among government entities, development partners, and civil society.
