Minister refutes report on president working from home

Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has refuted some reports in the media, (not Voice of Nigeria), which claimed that the President would continue to work from home on a permanent basis.

He denied making the pronouncement at the post-Federal Executive Council press briefing on Wednesday.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the Minister said the President only decided to work from home today, not that he had decided to work from home permanently, as reported by some reporters.

He said the headlines in a section of the media, Buhari to now work from home Lai Mohammed, was a misrepresentation of his statement atthe briefing.

Quoting verbatim the relevant section of his briefing, Mohammed said: He (the President) wanted to rest TODAY and he asked the VP to preside over TODAY’S meeting. In addition, he also asked that all his files be taken home to him and he will be working from home TODAY.
