Nigeria’s Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has appealed to Nigerian youths to be more patriotic as the destiny of the nation lies in their hands.
Dr. Onu made the call at the Musical Festival and Award night of Caleb Group of schools in Lagos State, South-west Nigeria.
He said there is need to accord priority to rewarding schools system so as to spur healthy competition and excellent performance among students.
Nigeria needs the very best hands among the youths to achieve transformation from a resource-based to a knowledge and innovation driven economy.
The Minister added that products of Caleb group of schools are well placed to assist Nigeria in this transformation.
Dr. Onu, appealed to well-placed Nigerians to replicate the success story of the founder of Caleb group of schools by establishing educational institutions which would help the nation achieve economic transformation in the country.
Earlier, former Head of State General Yakubu Gowon, retired described Caleb group of schools as having world class facilities and praised for the sustained and continued efforts of the school’s management in raising the bar of education in the country.
