Ministry to partner with Nassarawa on girl-child education

The Federal Ministry of Science and Technology is to partner the Nasarawa State government, north-central Nigeria, to encourage the girl-child embrace Science subjects as the pathway to a successful future.

The Minister of State in the Federal Ministry, Mr. Mohammed Abdullahi disclosed this when the First Lady of Nasarawa State, Hajia Abdullahi Sule, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja Nigeria’s capital.

The Minister of State said the Ministry will initiate programmes targeting the girl-child in Nasarawa State.

We will leverage with the office of the First lady, encourage the girl child embrace Sciences, he added.

According to Mr. Abdullahi, the Ministry has been in the forefront in Technology and Innovations, which have succeeded in having several research institutes that have brought out first class materials and innovations.

He said the Ministry is on its toes to see how it can support the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration to achieve set goals of the next level projections in Nigeria.

The ultimate essence is to commercialize these innovations and use it in order to transform the economy and the security of the nation. He said

Furthermore, he expressed the Ministry’s strong commitment to cooperate with the First lady’s projects aimed at focusing on the development of the girl-child.

He further sought to leverage on her influence in the State, to bring about more developmental projects through Science to the people of the State.

Mohammed Abdullahi appreciated the solid support he constantly received from the Women of Nasarawa State under the leadership of the First-lady and appealed for their cooperation to help him succeed as Minister of State.

Earlier the First Lady of Nasarawa State, Hajia Abdullahi Sule, used the opportunity to offer moral support and prayers for the Minister, to excel and be guided in his duties.
