Multi-Conflict Displacement in Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and Nigeria (21 November 2019)

As of mid to late-2019, the four countries bordering Lake Chad host 5.1 million people displaced by multiple regional conflicts. Recent attacks by Boko Haram/ISIS-WA and changes in military strategy by the Nigerian government have increased the area that is hard to reach and further limit humanitarian access to 3.3 million total displaced by that conflict. Other conflicts in Cameroon, Central African Republic, Mali, Nigeria, Sudan, and elsewhere have displaced an additional 1.8 million.
