Abuja: Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has announced its upcoming 8th Biennial Conference and Annual General Meeting, which aims to develop sustainable solutions in the areas of health, youth development, livelihood, education, and ‘Dawah’. The National President of the Society, Alhaji Ayodeji Abdulwahid, revealed these plans during a news conference, highlighting that the event is set to be inaugurated on Friday.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Abdulwahid emphasized that the conference, themed ‘Building Resilience in a Changing World: The Role of Faith and Community’, will focus on strengthening institutional capacity and examining the role of faith during crises. The conference will also address community resilience and social cohesion, with a review of NASFAT’s progress under the LEAD (Leadership, Empowerment, Agents of Change, and Dawah) frameworks. Additionally, organizational reforms for the next two years will be considered and approved.
Abdulwahid expressed pride in hosting the conference
in Abuja, where leaders, members, scholars, partners, and stakeholders from Nigeria and the Diaspora will gather to reflect, review, and reposition the Society for future challenges. He noted that the conference’s theme is pertinent to the current rapid and unprecedented changes in the world, including economic uncertainties, social pressures, insecurity, climate challenges, and digital disruptions.
Highlighting the importance of faith and community, Abdulwahid stated that NASFAT’s LEAD model aligns with the conference’s theme and guides social impact interventions. These initiatives aim to enhance socio-economic resilience through skills acquisition, business development support, educational scholarships, health interventions, and livelihood programs. NASFAT continues to uplift communities by emphasizing economic stability and human development as essential pillars of resilience.
Abdulwahid also noted the active engagement of youth and women in community service, environmental stewardship, gender-based vio
lence prevention, and peace-building programs. He emphasized that a resilient community is characterized by active contribution from its members. NASFAT plans to expand digital Dawah, strengthen missioner training, enhance counseling systems, and standardize spiritual programs across its branches.
