Abuja: The Senate Arm of the 10th National Assembly has endorsed Nigeria’s hosting of the forthcoming World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), tagged ‘Abuja 2026’ and commended the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). The Chairman, Senate Committee on Capital Market, Sen. Osita Izunaso, endorsed the forthcoming event at the unveiling of the WPRF Abuja 2026 ceremony in Abuja.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the event is organised by Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management in partnership with NIPR. Izunaso assured that the Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep Tajudeen Abbas would attend the event.
Izunaso stated that the event has the potential to project the good image of Nigeria to the international community. He explained that since the event would hold at the Eagle Square, it would be a point of pride if the Federal Secretariat was given a face lift to showcase the true beautiful image of Nigeria.
The lawmaker also tasked the Minister of Aviation, Mr Festus Keyamo, to ensure that officers of the Nigerian Customs Service and other officials at the airport exhibit patriotic Nigerian behaviour characterised by love, honesty, sincerity, hospitality, and humility. He emphasized the importance of addressing these areas as people arrive from outside the country.
Izunaso commended the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, for his dedication and support to NIPR, highlighting that no one has shown such commitment before. He urged showcasing Nigeria as a nation in November 2026.
