The National Assembly says it is confident that the 2017 Budget will meet the hopes and aspirations of Nigerians for the rapid economic development of the nation.

The Chief Whip House of Representatives, AlHassan Ado Doguwa, stated this while commenting on the 2017 Budget Proposal presented to the joint session of National Assembly.

He said that though there are a lot of challenges surrounding the proposed document, but government has initiated programmes to make the budget workable and implementable.

The 2017 budget proposal is implementable and realistic, given the measures put in place to tackle all the predictable challenges to its implementation.

Measures like re-instating the Amnesty Programme for Niger-Delta Militants among others would go a long way in meeting the parameters used in planning the budget as well as its successful implementation. the Lawmaker stressed.

Doguwa also explained that the National Assembly would continue to partner with the executive arm to provide the much needed change for the country.
