The House of Representatives is to review diplomatic policies between Nigeria and other countries to allow its citizens move freely through cities of the World.
The Chairman House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mr. Yusuf Yakubu announced this at the inaugural meeting of the committee in Abuja.
Mr. Yakubu reminded the committee members of the need to harmonise ideas and experiences to ensure that Nigeria’s integrity is restored across the World.
He said that their appointment was timely given the challenges facing the nation at home and abroad.
The House in a motion adopted at the plenary urged President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene and ensure immediate rehabilitation of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, South East Nigeria.
In the motion under matters of urgent public importance on the need to ensure speedy rehabilitation of the Enugu International Airport by the deputy minority leader, Mr. Toby Okechukwu and thirteen others.
The lawmakers lamented that six weeks after the closure of the airport on August 24, 2019, no reconstruction has begun at the airport.
They expressed concern that in spite of assurances by the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika that works on the airport would be completed before December 2019, no contractor has been mobilised to site or fund released for the rehabilitation of the airport.
