Abuja: Rear Adm. Abdullahi Ahmed, the Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC), has expressed confidence that Nigeria can overcome its security challenges through trust in God.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Ahmed articulated this belief during a Special Juma’at Prayer in Abuja, marking the commencement of activities for the college’s graduating course – 34 participants. He highlighted the importance of faith and trust in God for Nigerians and the graduating participants as a means to address the country’s security issues.
Rear Adm. Ahmed emphasized that while weapons, training, and tactics are crucial in warfare, divine intervention and prayers are equally significant. He referenced the army’s motto, “Victory is from God alone,” underscoring the role of faith in overcoming crises.
During his special lecture, Ahmed challenged the graduating participants to lead exemplary lives in their future roles. He urged them to emulate the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by being prayerful, hardworking, committed, humble, and serving as role models.
The college Imam, Sqn. Ldr. Ibrahim Muhammad, also stressed that the best way to tackle the country’s insecurities was through adherence to the guidance of Allah and His messenger. He called on citizens to trust in Allah’s destiny, noting the importance of prayer alongside government policies and national security measures.
