Post: Neveah Ltd’s 44,000mt Recycling Plant Begins Operations in Ogun

Abuja: Mr Ibidapo Lawal, Chief Executive Officer of Neveah Ltd, has announced the commencement of operations at the company’s advanced recycling plant, capable of processing over 44,000 metric tonnes of aluminium and copper annually. Lawal revealed this development during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the plant has successfully produced its first batch of aluminium ingots, reaching a purity level of 85.1 percent. This significant investment in Ogun is expected to generate over $150 million in export revenue and create 500 direct jobs and over 6,000 indirect jobs.

Lawal highlighted the importance of this achievement in boosting Nigeria’s non-oil export sector, noting that the recycling plant would reduce carbon emissions by more than 377,000 tonnes annually. He emphasized that the plant’s operations are part of a broader strategy to enhance Nigeria’s contribution to the global circular economy.

The CEO elaborated on Neveah’s commitment to transforming scrap into high-quality metals and strengthening Nigeria’s export portfolio. By utilizing advanced technology, Neveah ensures that each aluminium ingot meets and exceeds international quality standards, thus facilitating access to demanding export markets.

Lawal also touched on the company’s mission to promote sustainable growth and support national development goals. Neveah Ltd, a Nigerian commodity export and trading firm, recently achieved the top spot in the Metals and Mining Category and is ranked 21st on the Financial Times’ 2025 list of Africa’s Fastest-Growing Companies.
