Nigeria: Niger Set Aside 30,000 Hectares of Land for Grazing

Niger state government has allocated about 30,000 hectares of land in Bobi community, Mariga Local Government Area as grazing reserve for herders.

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello disclosed this during a meeting with the national leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) yesterday in Minna.

The governor also promised to open up additional grazing reserves in designated locations across the state, in the ongoing effort to end farmers/herders clash in the state. He said the Bobi grazing reserve is enough to accommodate half of the cattle in the state.

He said facilities such as veterinary clinic, water and adequate feeds will be provided at the Bobi grazing reserve.
