Nigeria satisfied with basic education delivery in Osun

The Nigerian government has expressed satisfaction with the various basic education delivery initiatives of the Osun State Government.

The Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission, Dr Hammid Bobboyi, was speaking on the side-lines of a High Level Advocacy visit to the State.

He said some specific efforts have been made in the construction of model schools, integration of ICT into education delivery, improvement of staff welfare and access to UBEC, among others.

Dr. Bobboyi expressed optimism that the efforts already made would further establish a robust and commendable legacy in quality Universal Basic Education service delivery in the State.

He challenged other states to borrow a leaf from Osun and prioritize investments in basic education.

Improving Basic Education

The State Government and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) also held discussions on means of improving basic education in the State.

The series of meetings in this regard was prompted by the Osun State Universal Basic Education Board in collaboration with the Department of Social Mobilisation of Universal Basic Education Commission, who have been strategizing on steps to be taken in ensuring that the state fully utilizes available resources in improving its UBE delivery services.
