The Nigerian Army says it will continue to strengthen relationship with the United State and value its support in counter insurgency operations.
The Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai stated this while receiving a delegation from the United States Army led by the Adjutant General of the California National Guard, Major General David Baldwin.
The delegation was received at the Army Headquarters Abuja, on Monday.
Buratai stated that Nigeria would boost the 12 years relationship with the US Army and collaborate in the areas of aviation, information operation and Cyber operations.
It's my honour and privilege to welcome you General Baldwin and your delegation, I did mention areas of collaboration between the Nigeria and US Army. The relationship between our armies has been a long standing one and it is our desire to boost this relationship. The support provided by the US in our counter terrorism operations has been quite tremendous, he stated.
The leader of the US delegation, Adjutant General of the California National Guard, Major General David Baldwin said the United Nations Army wants to explore new areas of collaboration with its Nigerian counterpart.
The Adjutant General of the California National Guard also praised Nigeria for the hospitality given to the delegation, adding that it has been a great experience.
