Nigerian Government to promote cultural heritage

The Nigerian Government has set out plans to tell the country’s rich story which consist of a vital aspect of her cultural and historic products to the rest of the world as well as people in Nigeria.

The country’s Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji lai Mohammed signed a Memoranda of Understanding with Leadership Folio Limited a subsidiary of Daily times on Monday to produce a compendium of events, personalities and places in both text and pictorial format about the country.

The Minister submitted that the compendium would be one of the best gift the country can offer the literary and cultural world.

“The grand book is a partnership arrangement with the Ministry. The Ministry has agreed to support and endorse the project in a bid to promote the marketing drive.

It contains wonderful pictures and information about events, personalities as well as places that. Every page is delightful; this is one of the best gifts from Nigeria to the rest of the world.

On his part, Chairman of the Leadership Folio Limited, Mr Fidelis Anosike said the idea was to use information and culture as a tool to tell the Nigerian story.

He said there was the need to tell the true story about Nigeria and also to change some perception about the country.

“After over a year of intense and critical deliberations over the project it has come to reality at last. We believe the Nigerian story, culture and history will travel very far with this grand book. The Nigerian brand is a delight to any part of the world and as such the topic Nigeria is bound to succeed and attract attention.”

The compendium consists of collections about places, events and personalities in Nigeria from 1946 to 2014
