Nigerian pilgrims have been urged to pray fervently for the unity, peace and prosperity of the country.
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Council, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, said despite all challenges, Nigeria is gradually recovering from hard times especially in the areas of insecurity among other social vices.
In his goodwill message to Muslims, especially pilgrims in the Holy land, issued on Thursday by the National Secretary of Shehu Alimi Foundation for Peace and Development, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, the monarch wished them safe return home.
According to him, Hajj is a strong pillar in the Islamic jurisprudence as enjoined by Allah. I heartily felicitate with Muslim ummah across the world especially contingents from Kwara State who have answered the call of Allah by offering themselves to perform this year’s Hajj exercise.
As you are preparing to perform one of the important aspect of the pilgrimage which is the mounting Arafat, I pray for a successful spiritual exercise with sound health, Allah’s mercies and acceptance of your supplications.
Kindly pray for Nigeria as a nation, Kwara State and global peace for all and sundry towards an harmonious working relationship in the land. While we look ahead to the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir, Muslims should imbibe the culture of patience and tolerance as enjoined by Prophet Ibrahim and his son, Prophet Ismail.
Sulu-Gambari however, urged wealthy Muslims to extend hands of charity to the less privileged during the festive period in order to promote love and harmony in the society.
