Yola: The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has recognised three petroleum marketers for their consistent adherence to regulatory standards on accurate fuel dispensing. The recognition was announced during the Authority’s Third Quarter Stakeholders’ Engagement Meeting held in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, northeast Nigeria.
According to Voice of Nigeria, NMDPRA’s North-East Regional Coordinator, Isa Kafur, emphasized the importance of acknowledging marketers who maintain transparency and fairness in the downstream sector. While erring marketers face public sanctions, the Authority believes it is equally crucial to commend those upholding regulatory standards.
Kafur detailed the Authority’s routine operations, stating, “Every day, our surveillance team visits filling stations secretly and takes inventory without the operators’ knowledge.” Over the past two years, certain stations have consistently dispensed fuel accurately, ensuring that consumers receive the exact amount they purchase.
The marketers honoured for their compliance and accurate fuel dispensing are Maikadiri Nigeria Ltd, Fahimta Oil Nigeria Ltd, and NNPC Retail Affiliate (Madagali Oil).
