Abuja: Senior Pastor of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Daki-Biyu District, Kubwa, Abuja, Alex Ogundipe, highlighted Nigeria’s significant progress 65 years after its independence, during the Church’s 20th Harvest Thanksgiving service themed ‘Double Glory’ on Sunday. He acknowledged the challenges facing the nation but emphasized the visible presence of divine intervention throughout Nigeria’s journey.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Ogundipe stressed the importance of positive discourse about the country, suggesting that speaking well of Nigeria could help reveal its virtues. He further encouraged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu and pray for the nation’s leaders, as their success is vital for continued national development.
Ogundipe expressed optimism in President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, believing it to be a strong foundation for Nigeria’s advancement. He referenced Tinubu’s remarks at the coronation of Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan land, as evidence of the positive outcomes from recent economic reforms. He also commended the government’s tax reform efforts, which he views as essential for economic progress.
In a related sermon, Pastor Zaccheus Akinadewo spoke about the transformative effect of God’s glory in individuals’ lives, citing 2 Corinthians 3:18. He urged Christians to avoid sin and maintain moral integrity, calling on national leaders to prioritize collective welfare over personal gains.
Additionally, Mrs. Margaret Ohenhen, Chairperson of the Harvest Thanksgiving Committee, expressed her gratitude for what she termed ‘a new season of glory’ within the church. Represented by Pastor Oluremi Olatundun, the Church’s Women Leader, she emphasized the need for increased female representation in politics and advocated for special parliamentary seats for women, underscoring the critical role of women in national development.
