The Equities commodities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange ended Tuesday’s tradings bearish, declining by 1.20% and bringing the market capitalisation to N11,201 trillion Naira from Monday’s closing of 11,337 trillion Naira.
Also, the All Share Index fell by 1.20% or 364.15 basis points to close by 30,036.15 basis points as against Monday’s closing of 30,400.28 basis points.
216.25 million units of shares worth 2.67 billion Naira exchanged hands in 4,508.00 deals compared to previous 223 million shares worth 3.3 billion Naira in 3,746.00 deals traded on Monday.
Against that backdrop, the Month-to-Date loss increased to 4.44%.
Heavy losses were evident across most sector indices; Banking which fell by 3.57%, Insurance fell by 3.30%, Oil and Gas fell by 1.45%, and Consumer Goods fell by 0.47%.
Market closed on Tuesday with 12 gainers and 28 losers, led by JOHNHOLT which gained 9.09% and NEM Insurance which fell by 9.40%, respectively.
