BENIN CITY- President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Edo State, Comrade Lazarus Adorolo has again urged people of the state to continue to support what he termed as ‘progressive’ administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki in the state.
He said that the coming on board of the present administration has no doubt witnessed across the three senatorial Districts in Edo State massive developmental progression especially in the areas of optimisation of Local Government Internally Generated Revenue ( IGR), as well as prompt payment of salaries and arrears of local government councils workers in the state.
Comrade Adorolo stated this while Fielding questions from newsmem in Benin City recently.
The NULGE boss maintained: Before his administration, IGR of local government councils in the state was low, but Obaseki’s administration has not only improved local government councils IGR but also the prompt payment of salaries and arrears of local government workers in the state.
This is an indication that we have progressed from where we were before this current administration and if allowed another four years, we have more of these dividends of democracy, he said.
Lazarus who debunked in strong term that there is no faction in the leadership of NULGE in the state as he remain not only the duly elected President of the union but also officially recognized, hence, his thank you visits across the Eighteen local government councils without any opposition.
The Union boss explained that the essence of the thank you visit across the state was to build a process that would further unified the people.
While promising an open door policy as one cardinal point of his administration, the NULGE President said that the union under his leadership would be investing in members check up dues, regular interaction with members through annual football competition amongst members with a view to building strong relationship.
Comrade Lazarus who sued for members cooperation disclosed that he has resolved to put in place leadership and advisory body that with be made up of some ex officials as well as members across the three senatorial Districts of Edo State to start the process of reconciling any agrieved members.
