By Ayika Chike : The National Union of Petroleum, and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, South East chapter, has adopted Governor Willie Maduabuchukwu Obiano for a second term in office.
Governor Obiano was adopted for a second term during a presentation of awards to some citizens who have contributed immensely to the development of the state by the NUPENG at Nnewi.
Speaking during the occasion, the Zonal Chairman of NUPENG, Chief Peter Muodebele, noted that the adoption of Governor Obiano for a second term was as a result of his giant strides in all sectors of the state economy.
Governor Obiano represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor Budget, Efficiency Internal Revenue Service, Sir Melie Onyejepu, thanked the NUPENG for adopting him for a second term and commended the facilitator of the occasion, Comrade Peter Nwosu, for his genuine support to the present APGA Government.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Barrister Rita Maduagwu who was the Special Guest of Honour, commended them for recognizing the lofty projects accomplished by Governor Obiano in the state, assuring that the House under her watch will continue to enact laws that will ensure the realization of Governor Obiano’s vision in oil and gas.
In a vote of thanks, the facilitator of the event who is also the Grand Patron of NUPENG and APGA Chieftain, Comrade Peter Nwosu, assured Governor Obiano that the people of Nnewi will continue to support him in view of his numerous achievements in the state.
