Oppostion party inaugurates 42 member campaign committee in Ogun

The main opposition party in Nigeria, the People’s Democratic Party in Ogun state, south west Nigeria has inaugurated a 42 member presidential campaign committee ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial district at the National Assembly, Buruji Kashamu, was named the chairman of the committee.

Other members of the committee are current state party chairman, Bayo Dayo, Deputy Chairman, Semiu Sodipo, Secretary, Kunle Bolujoko, representing Ogun East, member, Kemi Ewedimu, Ogun Central , member and Tajudeen Aina, Ogun west, member.

The committee also has members from all the 20 local government areas of the state.

Dayo urged the committee members to work together and ensure that the People’s Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar emerged winner in the 2019 elections .

It is not easy to wrestle power from the incumbent government. We have to move to the wards and talk to the people.

We still have some people that are parading themselves in Ogun as candidates of the party. We have the list that is duly signed by the Nigeria’s electoral commission, INEC.

We won’t fight anybody because PDP is one family in Ogun. We are going to do reconciliation.

Our presidential candidate is a man of the people and he is a man that can lead the nation.

Let’s start our works in all the wards. Ogun should be one of the state to win election for Atiku, he added.

Meanwhile, The Arewa community in the state has vowed to support President Muhammadu Buhari and other All Progressives Congress candidates during the 2019 general .

The Political Affairs Coordinator of the group in Ogun State, Hadi Sani, said the group which is an embodiment of all the 19 northern states, would always align with the good governance and anti corruption stance of Buhari’s government and promised to work in unison to ensure sufficient votes are delivered for the victory of President Buhari in 2019.
