Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has stated that the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) should not be used for political recruitment. During a meeting with the Trust’s Board of Directors, PM Karki emphasized that only individuals with a religious background are suitable for roles within religious institutions.
According to National News Agency Nepal, PM Karki elaborated on the importance of adhering to the intrinsic rules, norms, and traditional beliefs of religious organizations. She remarked that these institutions are a reflection of native culture and stressed the need to protect these values. The Prime Minister highlighted the global significance of Pashupatinath as a site of devotion for Hindus, arguing against the appointment of political figures within such sacred organizations.
