The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Candidate, (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has pledged to work with the Abia State Governor, Dr.Okezie Ikpeazu to create more jobs, particularly in Small and Medium Enterprises if elected into power.
Abubakar made the promise during the PDP campaign rally held in Umuahia, the state capital on Saturday.
The presidential candidate urged the Abia people to vote for PDP in the forthcoming elections, saying their votes will determine their future in securing employment for young men and women in the state.
Plans to rig
He however tasked the youths to protect their votes, alleging that the All Progressives Party, APC, plans to rig the elections.
Abubakar’s running mate, Peter Obi said that Abia state would benefit immensely if PDP wins especially in infrastructure and employment.
The former Governor of Anambra State called on Abians to vote for PDP, to stand the chance of enjoying good roads such as easy drive of about 45 minutes from Aba to Umuahia with the construction of Enugu Portharcourt expressway.
Obi also promised that the Enyimba project would be accomplished if PDP wins in 2019 election.
We will bring Enyimba city back to Enyimba, your governor is already working for Enyimba city ,it will be a reality, he said.
Also speaking the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus expressed confidence that Atiku would win the election and warned against rigging the election.
The party chairman however called on the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC not to allow ringing because it would bring violence in the country.
Those that attended the presidential rally were former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, Senator Dino Melaye, former NDDC boss, Onyema Ugochukwu and party stalwarts and supporters, among others.
