PDP woos Southwest voters in 2019 general elections

Nigeria's opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has pledged to return the Yoruba nation to its glorious past if it takes over power after the Presidential election in 2019.

The party made the promise at its southwest zonal rally held in Ibadan, the political capital of southwest Nigeria.

Speaking at the event, the National Chairman of the Party, Comrade Uche Secondus urged the people of southwest Nigeria to reclaim their future by voting candidates of the PDP in the 2019 general election.

Whilst accusing the ruling party of amassing state funds to prosecute the 2019 elections, the party Chairman said the southwest rally would accentuate PDP's deepened consultation with leaders of the zone toward capturing power in 2019.

The Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar in his speech told thousands of supporters at the rally that he has the proven capacity, transparency and all-inclusive stance to manage the affairs of the country.

Since the return of democracy in 1999, the best prosperity we have enjoyed in this country was under the PDP. I stand before you today to promise you that I shall return your prosperity and the prosperity of this country.

Former Vice President Atiku, Abubakar also promised to restructure Nigeria if elected into the office of the President.

One of the most important policies I have advocated is restructuring, today I stand before you to pledge that within six months in office I will commence the process of reconstructing this country.

The PDP southwest rally was attended by party leaders from the six states in the region and thousands of party supporters.
