Agadagba-obon: A philanthropist, Chief Bibopere Ajube, has issued a warning that the increasing unemployment rate in the country poses a significant risk if capable individuals do not lend their support to the government. Ajube shared his concerns during a Youth Summit celebrating the 13th anniversary of Gallery Security Services Ltd. (GSSL) in Agadagba-Obon, located in the Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Ajube, who is also the founder of GSSL, emphasized his commitment to investing in humanity and society to foster positive changes. He urged affluent individuals to contribute to their local communities to tackle unemployment, which he identified as a primary driver of social issues and crime. Ajube highlighted the importance of impacting one’s environment and encouraged others to use their resources for the benefit of the community, warning that failure to address unemployment could have dire consequences.
Ajube, a prominent community leader, explained that GSSL was established to combat insecurity, particularly in the coastal regions of the Niger Delta. He noted that while conventional security agencies provide support, it is crucial for residents in coastal areas to take personal responsibility for their security. Ajube assured the community of his dedication to serving them throughout his life.
At a prior news conference, Mr. Anthony Onyeisue, the General Manager of GSSL, announced plans to empower 1,200 youths during the summit. Onyeisue stressed the challenges of managing a society with a high number of unemployed youths and emphasized the importance of creating jobs to reduce crime rates and enable youth contributions to society.
He detailed the achievements of the security outfit in protecting lives and property in coastal communities, highlighting its role in enhancing the socio-economic conditions of the areas it serves. GSSL has been recognized for its professionalism in combating sea piracy, oil thefts, pipeline vandalism, and other criminal activities, working alongside government security agencies.
Onyeisue also outlined GSSL’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, which include providing free medical services such as surgical operations and comprehensive health investigations. Additionally, the organization has supported households through cash assistance and non-interest loan programs, reflecting the leadership and generosity of its founder, Chief Bibopere Ajube.
The summit, reported by the News Agency of Nigeria, was titled “Strengthening Waterways Security and Community Safety by Tackling Illegal Bunkering, Sea Piracy, Kidnapping, Cultism and Drug Abuse.”
