Photojournalism: FAAPA DG Urges Stronger Digital Skills

Rabat: African news agencies have been urged to strengthen their photojournalism services to meet the demands of the digital era. Mr. Fouad Arif, President of the Atlantic Federation of African Press Agencies (FAAPA) and Director-General of Agence Macrocaine De Presse (MAP), highlighted the need for enhanced digital skills in photojournalism during a seminar in Rabat.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Arif made these remarks at a five-day photojournalism seminar attended by 25 reporters from across the continent. He emphasized the importance of developing photographic services in a global context where information and images circulate rapidly. The seminar aims to equip participants with both theoretical and practical lessons to improve their techniques, boost creativity, and expand media libraries of their respective agencies.

The training is supervised by seasoned photojournalism experts and is expected to foster a network of photojournalists within African press agencies. Arif expressed optimism that the seminar would lead to the creation of such a network. He also extended his gratitude to the trainers for their support and encouraged participants to maximize the benefits of this experience while enjoying their stay in Morocco.
