The Nigerian police has rewarded 15 Officers with certificate and cash for their outstanding performance in the fight against crimes and criminality in Niger State.
The Commissioner of Police in charge of the State, Adamu Usman who announced this while presenting the award to the beneficiaries at the Command headquarters in Minna the Niger Capital.
Adamu explained that the gesture was inline with the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu Abubakar directive to honour hardworking and dedicated police officers that excel in discharging their duties diligently.
According to him, operatives of Operation Puff Adder arrested a suspected kidnapper linked to the kidnapping of son of a monarch in Ibadan South west Nigeria at Kambari village in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, where they recovered 6,000,000 million Naira.
He said other exemplary quality exhibited are the arrest of eight kidnappers and armed robbery suspects where they recovered 1Ak49 two Ak47, 1 pistol, 153 live ammunition and Toyota car.
He however said two of the eight suspects were linked to the kidnapping of Magajin Garin Daura in Katsina State that led to his release recently.
Usman Adamu further warned that any officer and men of the police men caught violating the rules of engagement would be sanctioned.
