The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has promised to refund monies the Ebonyi State government spent on federal projects after the review committee concludes auditing of the projects.
President Buhari equally commended Governor David Umahi for the infrastructure development in the state.
He spoke during the presidential campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital on Wednesday.
The President says, I thank you all for your time and waiting patiently to see and hear from usI respect your conscience for planning to re elect me, I urge you to you all in Ebonyi State and beyond to vote for me and the 2019 APC governorship candidate in the state, Sen. Sonni Ogbooji to continue the good work we have for Nigerians.
Over 140 Ebonyi traditional rulers have endorsed Buhari and Umahi for 2019.
Investing in Agriculture
President Buhari told the traditional rulers that his administration’s plans to invest in agriculture was deliberate to improve the living standard of Nigerians and create an alternative revenue for the nation.
But subsequently, we got drunk with oil money and abandoned what kept us intact. But we are going back to that agriculture, he stated.
President Buhari assured the monarchs that the South-East would benefit from second Niger Bridge when completed as it would enhance movement of goods and services in and out of the region.
The APC National chairman, Adams Osiomohole thanked the state Governor Dave Umahi, for allowing them to use the venue, which he had denied them previously.
A large number of All Progressives Congress, APC, supporters were at the 8000 sitting capacity stadium, venue of the presidential rally to welcome President Buhari.
The chairman of the planning committee of the state Presidential campaign, Austin Edeze commended the supporters turnout at the rally.
Mr Edeze says the turn out of the masses is an indication of the accepatance of the President’s second term bid by the people of Ebonyi state.
Present at the rally were; National chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, Minister of Labour and Employment, Christ Ngige, Deputy Director of Buhari Campaign, Rotimi Amechi among others.
Before the rally, the President visited the Gvernor of the state, Dave Umahi of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
There was tight security in and around the venue of the rally.
