Reps Hold Moment of Silence for Late Son and Grandson of Sen. Abba Moro

Abuja: The House of Representatives on Tuesday observed a one-minute silence in honor of the late son and grandson of Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Abba Moro. This solemn event occurred during a plenary session presided over by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, following a motion by Rep. Philip Agbese (APC-Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo).

According to News Agency of Nigeria, members of the House stood silently and prayed for the souls of Victor Moro and his grandson, Abba Moro Jr. The tragedy struck the Moro family when Victor, the senator’s son, died in a motor accident on October 18 along the Mararaba axis in Nasarawa. This loss came just days after the passing of his grandson, Abba Moro Jr.

Victor had recently returned from Turkey after completing his studies and was preparing to begin his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme before the accident occurred. In a letter to the Speaker dated October 20, Rep. Agbese described the double tragedy as heartbreaking, noting the deep grief experienced by the Moro family and the Benue South Senatorial District.

Agbese highlighted Sen. Moro’s dedication and leadership, stating that the House’s gesture reflected compassion and solidarity with colleagues during times of personal loss.
