Abuja: Sen. Sunday Marshall Katung (APC/Kaduna South) has awarded full scholarships to two First Class Law graduates from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, covering their tuition for the Law School programme.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the beneficiaries, Shimanh Sabo from Kauru Local Government and Rosemary Mamman from Sanga Local Government, received the offers during a meeting with Katung at the National Assembly in Abuja. Katung’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Mr. Midat Joseph, conveyed the senator’s congratulatory message to the graduates, acknowledging their achievements as a source of pride for Southern Kaduna.
The senator, himself a lawyer, assured that the scholarships would completely cover the Law School fees, eliminating financial obstacles in their pursuit of legal education and eventual call to Bar. This initiative is part of Katung’s ongoing commitment to education, which includes both local and international scholarships, school infrastructure improvements, and s
upport for underprivileged students in Kaduna South.
Katung emphasized the significance of girl-child education in his human capital development agenda, highlighting the intellectual capabilities of young people, especially women, in Southern Kaduna. He expressed that their academic success was a collective pride for the community and pledged to support their journey to becoming legal professionals.
