The Senate President, Doctor Bukola Saraki has bankrolled the examinations fees of 500 Arabic students from Kwara central Senatorial District who intend to sit for external examination.
Dr Saraki presented the sum of N5 million to the chairman of the Kwara State Arabic Education Board, Dr AbdulKadir Solagberu for the purpose of registering the students for the examination.
The ceremony took place at the Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Constituency office in Ilorin , the KWARA state capital.
The Senate President who was represented by the Director- General of the ABS constituency office, Alh Musa Abdullahi said the gesture was in fulfilment of his earlier pledge to bankroll the examination fees of the students.
He said the gesture was to encourage the students and prospective students of Arabic studies.
The Senate President emphasised the importance of religion studies, noting that it promotes and inculcate moral values in the youths.
He urged the beneficiaries to study hard so that they could come out in flying colours in the internal examination.
Responding, the chairman of Kwara State Arabic Education Board, Dr AbdulKadir Solagberu who was represented by a board member, Dr Yakub Abdullahi thanked Dr Saraki for his kind gesture.
