The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Didi Esther Walson-Jack has emphasized the necessity for enhanced support and collaboration among Federal Permanent Secretaries to expedite the execution of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP-25).
She said this at the just concluded Retreat for Permanent Secretaries which was held in Zuba, Niger State.
She explained that the FCSSIP-25 plan is not just a document, but a strategic roadmap that will shape a more efficient, accountable, and citizen-focused public service.
While highlighting the critical role Permanent Secretaries play in bridging policy formulation and execution, Walson-Jack urged them to align their operations with the objectives of the FCSSIP-25 to ensure effective implementation.
The Head of Service commended the Permanent Secretaries for their dedication to maintaining the service’s values and standards, encouraging them to see themselves as custodians of institutional knowledge tasked with
serving Nigerians with integrity and impartiality.
She reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to supporting them by providing guidance, resources and solutions to challenges in the civil service system.
‘Together, we will navigate difficulties and find solutions that serve our country’s best interests,’ she assured.
Walson-Jack emphasized the importance of embracing the core values of accountability, meritocracy, professionalism, loyalty, and efficiency as the foundation of their leadership.
‘By embracing these values, we build a stronger civil service and restore confidence in the Nigerian people,’she noted.
The Theme for the retreat is ‘Accelerating Public Service Reforms Towards Effective Service Delivery.’
