The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) on has disbursed N6 million to 600 unemployed youths trained under the Micro Enterprises Enhancement Scheme (MEES) in Sokoto.state.
The Director General, National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Nasir Argungu, disclosed this while flagging-off the training programme in the state.
He said that the programme was part of Federal government’s empowerment programme across the country.
Today we are empowering 600 persons trained under MEES with each getting N10,000 and inaugurating the new vocational skills training with 1, 000 person from Sokoto, as we are targeting no fewer than 5, 000 from the state, he said.
He commended Senator Aliyu Wamakko for complementing the Federal Government’s empowerment programme by sponsoring additional 400 youths to be part of the empowerment scheme.
