Sokoto State reiterates commitment to improve healthcare services

Sokoto State Commissioner for Health,Dr Ali Inname has reiterated the government commitment to ensure remarkable improvement in healthcare services in the state.

Inname spoke in an interview with newsmen shortly after defending the Ministry's 2019 Budget proposal before the state House of Assembly Committee on Health, in Sokoto.

He said that the state government had since recorded tremendous improvement in the health sector and will do more in improving the health condition of all residents.

We are fully committed to ensure more realistic budget implementation in 2019, as such, we intend to identify measures to improve the sector's revenue generation.

Moreover, our priority in 2019 will continue to concentrate more on women and children healthcare services, in order to sustain our current fight against maternal and infant mortality, he said.

The Committee Chairman, Ibrahim Arzika (PDP- Sokoto North II), commended the ministry's commitment, in supporting the standard of living of the people.

Arzika assured that the committee will properly scrutinise the budget and act appropriately for the development of the state.
