Awka-Wife of the Archbishop, Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Anglican Communion, Mrs Martha Chioma Ibezim has called on women to always pray and stand in for their families.
Mrs Ibezim made the call during the Diocesan Women Executive meeting held at Emmaus House Complex, Awka on June 11.
In her presidential remarks, the Archbishop’s wife noted that the present challenges in the country and the world at large only called for prayer, urging them to be persistent.
“Do not relent or lose hope in God. Always bear in mind that with God all things are possible.”
She maintained that the eyes of the lord were always upon his children and would never forsake them.
Mrs Ibezim enjoined women to pray for the success of their husbands and families as well, since husbands do not have time to pray.
She lamented bitterly over the poor attitude of some women toward prayer, warning them of the implications.
“A non prayerful Christian is a powerless Christian. Prayer changes situations and levels mountains,’’ she admonished.
She noted that although the Church presently faced lots of challenges, the gates of hell would never prevail against it.
Mrs Ibezim enjoined them to always pray with Psalm 91 and claim the divine security that would come from God.
