The Supreme Court in Nigeria has upheld the election of Governor Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressive Congress, APC of Edo State in South Nigeria.
A panel of seven Justices of the apex court led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen dismissed the appeal filed by the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Pastor Osagie Ize � Iyamu for lack of merit.
Justice John Okoro who read the judgment on behalf of the panel said that the appeal filed by the PDP candidate lack merit and dismissed it with no cost attached.
The court fixed July 24 to give reasons for the judgement
