Post: Victory Over Terrorists Certain – COAS

Abuja: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has issued a stern warning to terrorists and all enemies of Nigeria, asserting that their failure is certain. Oluyede reaffirmed the determination of the Nigerian Army to root out terrorism and ensure national security through effective counter-terrorism strategies. He gave the warning during the Interdenominational Church Service to mark the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2025, on Sunday in Abuja. He reiterated the Nigerian Army’s commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty, protecting its territorial integrity, and upholding the rights of all citizens.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Oluyede emphasized the importance of the Nigerian Army’s motto, ‘Victory is from God Alone’, stressing the unwavering commitment of the armed forces to honor and faith. He assured that any attempt to disrupt Nigeria’s freedom, liberty, and democracy would be met with certain failure, as the Nigerian Army remains steadfast in its mission.

Oluyede highlighted the importance of collaboration with all stakeholders to create a joint and multi-agency environment to effectively secure the nation. The tradition of NADCEL, he explained, provides a platform to commemorate the army’s establishment and reflect on the sacrifices and dedication of its officers and soldiers.

He further noted the significance of remembering and honoring the brave heroes who have fallen in the line of duty, as well as supporting their families who bear the absence and loss. Oluyede’s message resonated with the theme of resilience and commitment to national service, emphasizing that the Nigerian Army will not waver in its duty to protect the nation and its citizens.
