Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has commended the Emir of Kano, Mohammed Sanusi II, for keeping peace in his domain.
The vice president was speaking on Monday when he paid a courtesy call on the Emir at his palace in Kano as part of his one-day official visit to the state.
Prof. Osinbajo, who was accompanied the governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, said he was at the Emir’s Palace pay respect and for cultural tour.
In his remarks, Governor Ganduje said Prof. Osinbajo’s visit was historical as he was in the state to inaugurate historic projects.
He said the vice president has always visited the palace anytime he was in the state to pay homage.
The Emir of Kano, Mohammed Sanusi II, who spoke through an interpreter, said the palace was home to the Vice President and appreciated his visit.
He thanked Prof. Osinbajo for coming to inaugurate the projects built by Governor Ganduje and urged the Kano State government to ensure quick completion of the ones whose foundations were laid by the vice president.
The Emir assured government of the continuous support of the Kano Emirate for projects in the state.
The Vice President also went on tour of the National Museum, Kano, also known as Gidan Makama.
Earlier on his arrival in Kano, Prof. Osinbajo inaugurated the Alhaji Aminu Dantata Bridge and the Tijanni Hashim Underpass constructed by the administration of Govornor Abdullahi Ganduje.
He also laid the foundation stone the Sheik Kabibullah Nasiru Kabara Bridge in Kano.
