Awka-Commissioner for Works, Mr Marcel Ifejiofor has cautioned staff members of his Ministry to adhere strictly to all preventive measures designed to curb spread of COVID-19 in Anambra.
Mr Ifejiofor, an engineer, was addressing them at the Ministry’s premises, while welcoming them back to work after about five weeks of `sit-at-home/lockdown’ as a result of outbreak of Coronavirus.
He reminded them that Gov. Willie Obiano in his 5th address directed civil and public servants in the state to procure protective face masks as wearing it was now compulsory in the state.
The commissioner, then, directed that henceforth, workers and visitors to the ministry would only be allowed access into the premises, if they were wearing face masks.
He urged them to always observe strict personal hygiene protocols such as washing of hands regularly, use of alcohol-based hands sanitisers.
Mr Ifejiofor also urged them to maintain physical distancing as stipulated by both World Health Organisation (WHO) and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
