Post: World’s Largest Energy Event Opens in Abu Dhabi, UAE

Abu dhabi: Global energy leaders, policymakers, investors, and innovators have converged on Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), for the 2025 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC).

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, ADIPEC, the world’s largest energy exhibition and conference, is hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). The 41st edition, with the theme ‘Energy. Intelligence. Impact,’ is being held from Monday to Thursday, bringing together international, regional, and local stakeholders across the energy, technology, and finance sectors.

This year’s conference focuses on driving decarbonisation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and local content development for sustainable global energy growth. In his keynote address, Dr Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer, called for stronger partnerships to enhance global competitiveness.

Al Jaber urged energy industry leaders, policymakers, and investors to emulate the UAE’s pragmatic approach by implementing realistic policies and forming bold partnerships that promote job creation and socio-economic growth. He said the UAE’s model demonstrated how policies grounded in realism could strengthen investors’ confidence and drive progress through technology and innovation.

He disclosed that an estimated four trillion dollars in annual capital investment is required across grids, data centres, and diverse energy sources, alongside pragmatic policies to attract funding and spur growth. ‘You cannot run tomorrow’s economy on yesterday’s grid,’ Al Jaber said, while identifying key demand drivers projected up to 2040.

Over the last four decades, ADIPEC, inaugurated in 1984 as a regional oil and gas forum, has evolved into a premier global event attracting thousands of energy professionals annually. NAN reports that a high-level delegation from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), led by its Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Bashir Ojulari, is attending the conference, with Ojulari scheduled to deliver a keynote address.

NAN reports that under the theme: ‘Energy. Intelligence. Impact’, ADIPEC 2025 highlights how finance is building resilience in today’s energy systems and scaling the intelligent solutions needed for system-wide transformation. Through cross-sector collaboration, inclusive investment, and global partnerships, the event will explore how capital can accelerate innovation, support emerging economies, and power the technologies defining the next era of global progress.

NAN reports that ADIPEC 2025 is expected to welcome over 205,000 visitors from more than 172 countries, featuring 2,250 exhibiting companies and 1,800 speakers. The event gathers leaders from across industry, investment, and innovation to explore opportunities, foster collaboration, and accelerate the development and deployment of solutions shaping the future of energy.
