Year 2020 will be more glorious for Nigeria – Vice-President

Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has expressed hope of a prosperous Nigeria in the coming year, saying next year will be more glorious than the outgoing year.

Prof. Osinbajo stated this on Sunday while speaking with State House correspondents after a service to mark the 2019 thanksgiving day at the Aso Villa Chapel, Abuja.

The Vice President, who was joined at the service by Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, among other government officials, said his message to Nigerians on the thanksgiving day was that of hope for better things to come.

My message is found in the scriptures; Psalm 65:11 tells us that God is going to crown the end of this year with his goodness and with his abundance.

And he will give us the fatness of the land, in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

So, I believe very strongly that God is going to bless this land and prosper this land, not just at the end of this year, but the coming year will be even more glorious, and much more wonderful for all of us.

Attitude of gratitude

Also speaking with correspondents, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha, enjoined people across the world to have an attitude of gratitude to God in everything and in every situation.

The heart of gratitude is always pleasing unto the Lord that you show appreciation for the little things that happen in your life.

Looking back, we are just about 31 days to the end of the year and you see how God has taken us from the 1st of January 2019 to this present moment.

So many people have not been able to see this day, but as a result of God’s mercies and grace we’ve seen this day. So, my message is that we must remain constantly in an attitude of gratitude to God.

Mr. Mustapha said that one of the things for which Nigerians should be grateful to God is the country’s unity.

As a matter of fact, for Nigeria being one country today, we ought to be very grateful to God.

We have had our own share of challenges, insecurity in different forms and facets, but God has sustained us and we are getting through the woods.

And I’m confident that the same God that has kept and preserved as a nation will see us through these challenges and take us out of the woods unto the trajectory of growth and sustainable development.

For the Chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel, Rev. Seyi Malomo said: We should also realize, the bible says that, it is the doing of the Lord and it is marvelous in our sight.

We went through election, the tribunal; everything went well. Several elections and then we see victories.

As we reflected in the message, God is God of advance knowledge. He knows about Nigeria and we have to thank him because he knows this nation, he cares about this nation and he is showing compassion to this nation.
