Abuja: The Abia State Government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring a safe environment for investors. Jerome Green-Amakwe, Special Adviser to the state governor, Alex Otti, on Investment Promotion and Public-Private Partnership, made this announcement at the Pre-Event Luncheon of the Abia-Turkey Investment Summit and Product Exhibition, held in Abuja.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the summit is scheduled to take place from November 25 to November 27 in Umuahia, with the theme ‘Bridging Continents, Unlocking Prosperity’. Green-Amakwe emphasized that the summit will gather business leaders and investors from Turkey and various European countries to explore investment opportunities in Abia. Organized by the state’s Ministry of Trade and Commerce, the event aims to position Abia as a prime destination for investment in Nigeria.
Green-Amakwe highlighted the partnership with Turkey, which is expected to establish numerous firms in Nigeria. He assured potential investors of the safety and security in Abia, citing collaboration with the Nigerian military, police, and other security agencies. He noted that 21 Turkish investors have already registered for the summit as individuals and corporate entities.
Senator Darlington Nwokocha, a former Senator representing Abia Central, also reassured investors of a secure investment environment in Abia. He pointed out that the state has all the necessary elements for business success, including its strategic location and proximity to other states, making it an attractive investment hub.
Mr. Carl Akwarandu, the General Manager and Zonal Head of Zenith Bank Plc, expressed confidence in Abia’s investment potential. He stated that Abia is one of the most appealing investment destinations in Nigeria based on financial statistics. Akwarandu mentioned that the bank is prepared to partner with the Abia Government due to the credibility of the state governor, assuring investors of the safety of their investments.
The bank plans to offer financial advisory services and funding to ensure sustainable returns on investment for investors in Abia. The message from officials is clear: Abia is open for business, and investors can expect to receive the promised benefits.
